VICKIE WINANS LAUNCHES RECORD LABEL: Veteran gospel artist departs from long-time label Verity Records.
Grammy nominated gospel music singer Vickie Winans‘ new Detroit-based Destiny Joy Records label has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Central South Distribution in Nashville. The charismatic singer who asked for and was recently released from a long-term recording agreement with Verity Records, is now free to chart her own career path on her own terms. “I am sooo excited about my new distribution deal with Central South,” says Vickie Winans. “It is a mega deal and I am ecstatic. Destiny Joy Records is on its way now!”
The new label’s name is very personal to Vickie Winans. “Right after I had my son, Coconut (Marvin Winans Jr.), I got pregnant with a little girl,” she recalls. “We were planning to name her Destiny Joy Winans. Unfortunately, However, I miscarried during my fifth month and lost my baby who only weighed one pound. I named that baby Marvlyn Loreal Winans after her father Marvin Lawrence Winans Sr and kept the name Destiny Joy alive – not knowing one day that I would start this label and name it after her. My son Mario Winans‘ beautiful daughter is also named Skyler Destiny Joy.” 
Vickie Winans is one of the best-known artists in gospel music with signature songs such as “Shake Yourself Loose,” “As Long As I Got King Jesus” and “We Shall Behold Him” to her credit. Her latest CD “Woman to Woman” is one of her best albums to date. Her profile on BET’s Sunday morning TV series “Lift Every Voice” remains the most watched episode in that program’s history with over 800,000 viewers.

The topics have been about Kingdom Marriages, How to handle Rejection better,How to recognize your Calling, Purpose, and Destiny. What has brought people the most pain, will ultimately bring them the most gain ! this is where your mess becomes your message. Your test becomes your testimony ! I read your story about how you chose the name of your record label. You are in my prayers. I have written and recorded my first CD after singing 25 years. God has really blessed me. I have a story to tell our brothers and sisters in Crist and those outside of the flock. Hey Diva! My name is Debbie Vauls from Cincinnati, Ohio. I love you girl and the ministry that God has given you. You are real! Authentic! Genuine! and that’s why God continues to elevate you ! Stay true and through it all keep it moving Diva! Well… I want to be brief and sum this message up. I grew up a preachers kid. My parents were pastors in the inner city of cinti….yet I wore the mask. I found myself caught up in the party life and with a drug dealer where I endured years of physical, mental, and emotional abuse. Shout BUT GOD! In 2003 God spoke to me and said, ” enough is enough and today is the day!” I packed my bags, shut the door to my past and have never looked back. It seemed as though I haven’t lost a beat! To God be the gloooory! Well…while sitting at my dining room table in 2008, Holy spirit spoke to me and told me to pick up my pen. I did as instructed. He told me that through my testimony many would be set free and the shackles that have them bound will be loosed. He inspired me to write a drama titled ” A Woman’s Worth”. This is a drama that depicts those, men, women, youth who struggle with addictions , abuse, and depression. It tells the story through a monologue, musical, gospel drama that the anecdote is Jesus Christ. Diva, since 2009 the floodgates have been open to the ministry named that God gave called, ” Expressions of Praise”. We have ministered to over 3,000 men, women, youth who are in prisons, jails, drug treatment centers, homeless shelters, women conferences, etc. Thousands are getting saved as we travel with this drama in and out of State to prisons. I want to say that your song ” Release it” is saving souls in this drama! People, inmates, etc. of every ethnicity are running up to us afterwards asking us for your song! I would love for you to see the drama ! Also, for those who get saved through ” A woman’s Worth” ,if you have any extra cd’s for us to give to the prisoners, that would be a blessing! Once again, praying that your new label is blessed with great xuccess. I just want to inform you that Re-Konception! has been nominated for a 2010 Black Essence Award and will be singing at the 7th annual awards ceremony at the Century Center in South Bend, Indiana on Saturday October 9th. The ceremony begins at 5 PM, but we will have a table in the vendors’ marketplace from 10 AM – 2 PM. We will be performing one of the new songs that will be on our next CD.
