Joi Marshall is the latest R&B artist to cross over to gospel. Record label 8th Day Entertainment recently formed an alliance with Amen Gospel and EMI Gospel to distribute Joi Marshall’s forthcoming gospel CD, “Testimony & Praise.”
Joi Marshall, a Chicago native, is a former member of the ’90s platinum R&B group Jade, which had a chart-topping song with “Don’t Walk Away Boy.“
“I believe that I must live the example of what I teach by doing what I’m supposed to do when I hear from God, be it to minister by teaching, writing books, songwriting or singing,” said Joi. “It’s all a part of His purpose for my life.”
The album hits stores September 25, 2007. Songs from the album are already receiving airplay.
