Grammy nominated, award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Kelly Price will perform during the 13th Annual African American Business Achievement Pinnacle Awards in Houston on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007.
The black tie gala will take place at the Hilton Post Oak, 2001 Post Oak Blvd., beginning at 6 p.m. Table sponsorships and individual tickets are available to the public.
“We’re excited that Kelly Price will be a part of this special evening,” said Pinnacle Awards Chairman Jeffrey L. Boney, Houston Citizens Chamber of Commerce vice president. “Kelly Price has experienced great success and we’re fortunate to be blessed with her God-given talent.”
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Kelly Price is the daughter of the late Rev. Joseph Price and Evangelist Claudia Price and is the second of three children. Under the watchful eye of her mother and the pastorate of her grandparents Bishop Jerome and Evangelist Joni Norman, Kelly Price was nurtured and developed spiritually by being taught the word of God and the importance of a sustained prayer life through the special prayer services her grandfather held weekly in addition to Sunday services and bible study. It was there, at an early age, that the many gifts deeply rooted inside of her were watered and began to grow.
Kelly Price sang on her first recording before the age of 10 and by the time she was 18, she was recording and touring the world with multi-platinum pop diva Mariah Carey. Throughout her career, Kelly Price has sung for, recorded and toured with, and wrote, arranged and produced music for George Michael, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Brian McKnight, LL Cool J, Ben Tankard, Mary J Blige, Puff Daddy, Brandy, The LOX, Donnie McClurkin, The Williams Brothers, Faith Evans, Karen Clarke-Sheard, Yolanda Adams, MASE, Whitney Houston, Mary Mary, , Richard Smallwood, R. Kelly, Eric Clapton, Wynona Judd, Gerald Levert, Angela Winbush, The Isley Bros and the legendary Ronald Isley just to name a few.
Kelly Price’s latest CD, “This Is Who I Am,” was released by Gospocentric/EcclectiSounds through Zomba Gospel. The Pinnacle Awards spotlight and honor African-American businesses that have achieved success by combining vision, determination, commitment, perseverance and dedication to building strong communities.
