“AN EVENING WITH DESMOND PRINGLE”: Live DVD Taping An Evening with Desmond Pringle and the Desmond Pringle Orchestra

Nashville, TN – Desmond Pringle, talented songwriter, producer and the balladeer of gospel, returns to Chicago to celebrate 10 years in Gospel music with an evening of elegance, excellence and perfected praise and worship. In partnership with The Gospel Music Channel, “An Evening With Desmond Pringle and the Desmond Pringle Orchestra” will be taped at Cornerstone Christian Center on November 24, 2007 at 6:00 PM in Chicago, IL. “I am returning to Chicago because I made my debut as a solo artist and founded my own production company while in Chicago,” Desmond Pringle states. “This concert celebrates all that has transpired since that humble beginning.”

Desmond Pringle’s journey into professional music began in the lead role of the hit gospel musical “A Good Man Is Hard To Find”. His portrayal received an NAACP Image Award nomination. The native South Carolinian then relocated to Chicago to further develop his musical prowess. His work as a singer/songwriter gained him contributions to award-winning artists including Yolanda Adams, Bishop T. D. Jakes, R. Kelly and The Thompson Community Singers. Add to that, stellar performances at the Stockholm Gospel Festival and the award as the Best Male Vocalist by the African American Religious Connection. In 1998 his independent release “Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs” grabbed the attention of Chicago radio stations and led to a record deal with Tommy Boy Gospel and his highly acclaimed release Loyalty. Now, after serving as VP of Urban / Gospel for Warner Bros. Records, the ordained minister and psalmist faithfully travels the country promoting his current release Be Still, administering workshops, ministering the Word and sharing his heart.

“An Evening with Desmond Pringle and the Desmond Pringle Orchestra” is co-sponsored by The Triune Group, LLC, Discovering the Word and Magnum Opus Entertainment. Desmond Pringle will be rendering songs from his current project “Be Still” along with new music and a few surprises.

The 18 piece Desmond Pringle Orchestra is a handpicked aggregation of Chicago’s finest musicians. “One of the first things that happened to me and for me musically when I landed in Chicago in ’92 was that my very dear friend Sue Conway, one of Chicago’s premiere jazz singers, exposed me to the rich orchestra culture there,” says Desmond Pringle. “So, I was hired to do many high profile, ritzy functions dreaming of the day that I could have my own.” The Desmond Pringle Orchestra, a vision and mixing of faith with works, will come to pass on November 24th. Desmond Pringle gives credit to the Psalmist David who drafted the template in Psalms 150.

Adding to the majesty of the evening and rendering choral support will be a special appearance by the St. Ailbe’s Children’s Choir. Desmond Pringle and all who will come together for the evening unite musically and in divine purpose. Pringle decrees, “My goal is simply to capture the evening. Anything beyond is to be determined.”
