SKY ANGEL U.S. LAUNCHES REVOLUTIONARY NEW SERVICE: Christian Television Provider Begins New 70-Channel Internet Protocol Service

NAPLES, Fla. – Feb. 14, 2008 – Following the history of a company that was a pioneer in providing faith-based and family entertainment to America for more than a decade, a new company, Sky Angel U.S. LLC, has forged fresh territory by today unveiling the nation’s first broad-based Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service devoted to Christian and family TV and radio programming – currently featuring 70 channels.

Sky Angel U.S. LLC is now taking orders for its IPTV service, which features the widest variety of Christian TV and radio channels ever made available in one package by a television service provider, plus many popular mainstream family channels, including news and sports.

The 70 faith and family channels that have joined the Sky Angel IPTV lineup to date are available through three reasonably priced programming packages: a Faith Package ($14.99/mo.), a Family Package ($19.99/mo.) and both packages offered as a Family Values Pak ($24.99/mo.). Faith channels include FamilyNet, Liberty Channel, God TV, JCTV, Gospel Music Channel, EWTN, CatholicTV and many others. Among the family channels are Discovery Channel, Fox Business Network, The Weather Channel, Discovery Kids, Hallmark Channel and many more, including the previously announced NFL Network. Visit http://www.skyangel.com/channels for a complete channel lineup.

The launch of this new service and company comes following more than 10 years of providing Christian and family programming. The past service was provided by Dominion Video Satellite Inc. via high-power direct broadcast satellite (DBS) during the early days of that technology. “Our founder and my father, Robert Johnson Sr., launched the Sky Angel brand more than a decade ago when high-power DBS technology was in its infancy,” said Sky Angel CEO Rob Johnson. “Today, our new company, Sky Angel U.S. LLC, shares that same pioneering spirit by employing new innovative technology that will enable the service to expand quickly and cost-effectively while maximizing the viewing experience for our subscribers.”

IPTV is a flexible, digital format that allows Sky Angel to deliver its programming service directly to viewers’ televisions through a simple high-speed Internet connection and set-top box. Sky Angel is utilizing proprietary set-top box IPTV technology developed by NeuLion Inc. of Plainview, N.Y. The signal is sent via an Ethernet cable or wireless router, depending on the location of the TV to the Internet modem. IPTV technology is widely used in Europe and Asia and is gaining momentum in the U.S. Sky Angel is the first provider to offer a vast selection of Christian and family-friendly programming nationwide over IPTV.

IPTV technology has enabled Sky Angel to offer more than twice as many channels as have been available through the satellite service. In addition, Sky Angel IPTV features a 48-hour playback option on the faith-based TV channels, as well as Video-On-Demand. IPTV eliminates the need for an outside dish or antenna, professionally installed equipment or even a computer. A limited-time, free set-top box offer and 30-day, risk-free trial is being made to encourage viewers to try this exciting new technology.

I had a life-long membership under the original plan; and together we did everything possible to make IPTV work, including my having technical assistance on my end. A small percentage of other customers had this problem, I was told by your technical folk. I was devistated to give Sky Angel up.

NOW – has a correction been made? Again I am needing to change. The Charter folks continue to raise their prices – now my communications bill is more than electric.

I gave sky angel a try for over a year. Between their servers being down for hours and days at a time. to there box going out. (the box went dead after 6 months) To their front line operators lying about their server status. (“I promise, ALL of our servers are up”) then I asked to speak to there tech and he said 3 or 4 servers of their 6 were down for 5 days over thanks giving. Then they told me I could get out of the contract after being with them for a year for $39 dollars and return the box in good condition. Well the tech did not make notes and when I go to send it back in Sky Angel wants $70+ dollars with no trade in. Lie after Lie…. So much for CHRISTIAN television.
