HEZEKIAH WALKER TO PERFORM ON THE MCDONALD’S GOSPELFEST 2008: Gospel fever returns to the New York Tri-State area June 14 at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.

McDonald’s Gospelfest returns this year to Newark , New Jersey at the Prudential Center (165 Mulberry Street) Saturday, June 18 .

Auditions are complete and competitors are preparing to share the stage with some of the biggest names in Gospel.

Celebrity Gospel performers include Kirk Franklin , Donnie McClurkin , the Mighty Clouds of Joy , Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir , Byron Cage , Vicki Winans , and Cissy Houston .

Emmy Award winning A. Curtis Farrow is producer and director of the fest.

McDonald’s Gospelfest is a talent competition that features choirs , steppers , praise dancers , soloist , rappers and poets . Rising stars of all colors, ages, cultures and faiths will compete in a variety of categories.

WWOR-TV/My9 returns for the fifth year as the exclusive broadcast sponsor of McDonald’s Gospelfest 2008 . My9 will produce a two-hour 25th anniversary special scheduled to air on Sunday, July 20 from 7 - 9 p.m .

McDonald’s Gospelfest originated in 1983 under the auspices of the McDonald’s Corporation and the McDonald’s Tri-State Owner Association .
