Martha Munizzi Headlines Manifest Destiny Conference:
Award winning Gospel artist Martha Munizzi opens the three day Manifest Destiny Conference at a concert that will be followed by a day of workshops .
The Manifest Destiny Conference - presented by Women Organizing, Mobilizing and Building (WOMB) - will be held the weekend of July 11-13 at the Brooklyn Marriott .
The Manifest Destiny Conference will also feature Sweating in the Spirit led by Donna Richardson-Joyner . It ends on Sunday with a service and the Destiny Awards Brunch , honoring dedicated women of faith from across the region and the country.
The conferences’ goal is to encourage good mental , spiritual , physical and financial health of women. The events also facilitate networking among the women who attend.
"Women of color have been disproportionately affected by everything from AIDS to abuse, cancer to coronary disease. It is high time that we mobilize. We must both educate and protect ourselves and our community. Women have historically been the backbone of society. If the core is compromised how can the community stand?" Dr. Barbara Austin Lucas , Executive Director of WOMB elaborates.
