Just today I found out about J. Moss’ sin. At first I was just totally shocked. But after listening to him state how he repented to his wife, his church and his friends,I immediately put off judgement and got the heart that Jesus requires all of us to have, a heart of reconcilliation and love. I love you, Bro Moss and my prayer is that you stay living holy, be an example of the lost and now found. Love your wife and family and I pray for the day when grace will be extended that you and your family can embrace the child the God blessed to be born from this situation. Grace, Mercy & Truth is my prayer for you!

I just pray that this situation is handled properly. J. Moss has owned up to his responsibility, despite of how he did. There are so many times where we as people will get caught up in a “Celebrity” making a mistake. We are all human, no matter how you look at it. Now if some of our business was on this internet, we would all be looking a little embarrassed. Yes he made a mistake, but come on people, we all make mistakes. I pray that J Moss and the girl have truly asked for forgiveness from the Lord. But I also pray for hearts to be mended in this situation. We have preachers and ministers who are not in the spot light who go through this all the time and it is time out to stop being so “holy art thou” and begin to PRAY for a Christ-like mind….because the devil is after God’s people and he’s doing his job, but are we doing ours?

If we would learn to do as the Bible says, “examine yourselves to see whether YOU are in the faith!” If we could go to work on ourselves, that would take up all the time we waste judging and evaluating other’s actions! The greatest commandment is that we love one another as Christ loved the church and gave His life for her and that we would love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and soul. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth…it keeps no record of wrong..it is not proud…it covers a multitude of sins.. I just want to say that I am a big fan of jmoss. what he did was wrong and I’m not making excuses for him. If God can forgive him and his wife can forgive him who are we not to forgive. Lets not forget that the lady he had sex with knew who he was and knew he was maried and could have planned to get pregnant. Thank G od neither one of them had aids because they would be in a worst situation.The point I am trying to make is everyone makes bad decisions and we all fall short.I pray that he will take care of his child and love him like he loves the other two that has by his wife.Its not the childs fault and I hope that Ms Hughes isnt putting any bad thoughts in the childs head about his father. jmoss take care of ur son and be in his life. God would want u to do that. I pray that God will continue to bless ur marriage.You have a wonderful beautiful wife who loves the lord and loves u,She is a good wife and she know that ur a good man. Let me close by saying that me and my husband have been together for 25years since we were 20 we have 4 chldren 17,15,12,an 3. There are soo many fakes and we are on our guard so much that anything happens we run. either TOOO much in where MEN are raised as Gods or TOOO far away where a sin is exploded, mocked, we all “pull the hair” adn have our God to “spit” and say our peice to show we are pious, “enlightened”, radical or wise all along condeming sometimes even wrongly, following a maddend crowd…sound familiar?
How many, EVEN if he is the WORST sinner, has prayed for him, his children, his family, even the woman? THEY BOTH slept together, how do we know she was a DEEEPER christian, or because she is not on STAGE her faith status is less?…sad!!
Speak the truth-Yes, challenge christians to be Holy-Yes, Speak against the SIN-Yes, but JMoss, who buys his CD etc, leave that alone, we do not know the full story,someone should be working with him- if he is willing to change that is -to get right and get accountable. There is a lot of frustration in the body because we all “hear” so and so did that and didnt repent etc but we DIDNT actually see or hear from the source. These stories cannot be TOTALLY confirmed and even if true are ONE dimension of the truth and the people involved actions. How do we know JMoss didnt run straight home after the ONE act and confessed, cried, repented and sat down from ministry, or maybe he is still dojng it now, rampant and cheating again. The point is we cannot judge, since we NEVER know the truth and taking the place of the one who knows the “hear” and “Intentions”
1. In the body, TOO many are messing around+sinning and we do not SEE retribution as to why we have to behave and others can mess around and “repent” like its ok, or do not even b other and THIS is frustrating and we act in anger.
2. As a body, we are meant to Love,support, pray and help the person get back on THIER walk, we cannot save them but we can help them, this however does not happen due to point number 1 and we ALL know this hence why point one seems MORE frustrating. Love doesnt accept sin, Jesus loved, but demanded change, pulling people UP, we are not God but we cannot accept sin or PUSH people down so we feel satisfied they have been punished and we are doing OUR part to stop lukewarmness, this is wrong! Banishment only happens when the person chooses NOT to change and ALL chances are wasted, this has not happened yet, and we aint God. Condemn the sin, activly reject and have No part in it but Love the person they could be a Saul.

If what I read is true, then how disappointed I am with him. A “so-called” santified, Holy Ghost filled man of God to offer to pay for an abortion, which is clearly against God’s Word and how he was raised is beyong horrible. IF WHAT I READ IS TRUE……..She should hire the best attorney and get a good chunk of that $50,000 a month salary he supposedly gets. And to not go visit a child that is proven his is somewhat unforgiven…yet we do have to forgive. Yet if this is not true, then what I say doesn’t matter…but does it matter anyway???

I’m hoping that he did address this issue with his church congregation. In my first comment I wrote that Moss did fall short in many ways, in which I am acknowledging he has sinned. Yes he is supposed to be accountable for his sin. Let’s just be careful not to CONDEMN and throw stones. Jesus said, “He who is without sin cast the first stone.” Everyone has committed sin in sort of way. In this case, Moss is a memeber of the Body and the bible tells us to pray for one another and when our brother/sister has been overtaken in a fault, restore him in love. There is no restoration from us when we condemn. Love is motivation for restoration. That’s Jesus’ message. Remember how 1Cor. 13 defines love. This is the reason the Body Of Christ is so divided because we are either too busy being selfish by only being concerned with ourselves or too busy condemning. I guarantee you that if we would all unify and focus on loving and helping each other, we would be consecrated as we should be and able to TRULY succeed. A house divided against itself will fall. We would win more people to Christ if we unified the way God commanded us to. At the end of the day, it’s all about winning people to God through Christ, encouraging and edifying each other, and living life abundantly. Without love, that can’t happen.

We are told to do more than pray for one another. We are told to exhort, encourage, and rebuke. You can’t help a person grow up in the things of God and in living for God without speaking the truth in love. For too long in the Body of Christ we have “overlooked” people’s behaviors and lifestyle all under the “do not judge” comment. The Bible says that the righteous shall judge all things. This should have been discussed inside the Church before it ever became public knowledge.

Whew!!! Well, all of these comments are accurate. Moss did fall short in several ways, but hopefully by now he has gotten it right in his heart with God and with all in involved. That’s repentance. We can’t focus on the sin. We can only hope that he has acknowledged the error of his ways and turned from them. If he has done so, he is still anointed to use his gift and we should continue to support him as our brother in Christ. I also agree that he should make a public repentance call of some sort, being that he is publicly known. There are a few publicly known spiritual leaders that have fallin short and have not done so. We can only pray for them that the Holy Spirit continues to convict them…not US!!!! The same goes for Moss. Let’s do as we should as the Body of Christ and pray for our brother saints and be mindful of our own flaws. We want people to pray for us when we fall short. That’s EVERYONE’S job!!!! We are all members of Christs’ body. He commanded us to love. Let’s do just that.

The clearly say do not judge for you two can be judge! His he made a mistake. His wife has forgiven him most of God has forgiven him! We all fall down in life. No one is perfect. The only person that is is Jesus Christ. He made a mistake he done wrong. No one is without sin! I know a Pastor who had a son while is still married! He has been preaching for over 50 years. This situation and the comments here are not about “holding grudges.” It is about accountability and holiness. J Moss knew he was married when he violated his commitment to his marriage. This issue should be talked about among Christians and those who are in these type of situations and other sinful acts/behaviors that bring attention and embrassement to the Body of Christ, not to mention the Christian witness. The Bible tells us to settle matters among ourselves, meaning Christians, before having to go to court.

It is not about being excused, it’s about being responsible and truthful. The Bible teaches the believers to “confess their faults [sins] one to another.”

I say this to all who post here…. Yes, it is easy to say things that can be judgmental to J Moss’s and anyone else’s situation like this. But , I do urge you to be careful of the words that you write and say regarding your comments. Do I condone it, no, neither do I agree of his behavior. I must put that into perspective to eliminate disparities. I just want to admonish the SAINTS that are posting to understand that we are not to be pious in writing our opinions sounding sacntimonious. Where is our responsibility to pray for our brother “considering ourselves….less we fall into such sins”? Character is who you are when nobody is watching. If this was a sincere mistake, then it should have been dealt with in a more sincere manner. Own up to it instead of being forced into court. Confront it instead of defaulting. Issue a public apology instead of complaining about the case hurting your career.

The real problem is, that we are not teaching and demanding accountability anymore as Christians. Everybody can pretty much do whatever, cover it up, and go on. Then when it comes out, it’s a shocker, the person in the situation acts repentant for a minute, and the cycle continues. Then when we speak out and call sin, SIN, we are condemned for “judging”. Well just call me a JUDGE because the sexual sins of our leaders, the ones that are supposedly “called and chosen”, are doing harm to the Body of Christ. This sex demon is running wild, and the major goal is to make our testimonies and faith in God, impotent.

J. Moss’ behavior, and whomever else, is a symptom of more serious spiritual issues. What about his local Pastor? This is the second high profile sexual situation to evolve out of his church (he is also ex-Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s Pastor). Could this situation be a mirror of what’s going on in his church? Our church? Anyone’s church? What about these empty denominations, that are more like cults?How can we hear, without a Preacher? And most importantly, what about our true walks with God, where He talks to us and guides us in the right direction?

These ‘falls from grace’ – from Bishops, Pastors, Singers, Musicians, to the everyday guy – are doing serious harm to the credibility of the Body of Christ. Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free? Why pursue holiness and godliness and power, when you can have the form, do your dirt on the side, and everything’s ok? This is not how we should live.

Wow, there sure is alot of judging going on around here. Just because a man is saved and has a gospel career does not make them sinless, temptation proof, men. A person’s mistakes is not indicative of their relationship with God. His cheating on his wife is no different than you cheating on your taxes or stealing printer paper from your job. Sin is sin. There is no ” sin scale”. The truth is, we don’t know what his relationship with God is like. We have all shouted on Sunday and stepped into some foolishness on Monday. The enemy is attacking our kingdom in a major way (Paula Whites divorce, Juanita Bynum’s VERY public abuse scandal.) We all need to be on our knees praying for those in the kingdom who are highly visible to the public. And all of you talking about what you would have done if you were Mrs. Moss or how she’s sticking around because of the “lifestyle’! Please. You just proved how fickle you are and how strong she is. Jesus Christ was humiliated for us! We don’t know what God has in store for her for continuing to be obedient. I’m sure it’s not easy either. A nice car, a house and some clothes will never remove the pain that she is probably feeling. Sometimes in this walk as believers we have to go through some things that we would have never thought we would have to go through. Even Jesus asked God to ” let this cup pass” and “if there be any other way then let it be so”…

I just wanted to make a correction. I made a mistake on Jan. 22, 2009. I said that the Word also says that a RIGHTEOUS MAN FALLS SEVEN TIMES, HE RAISES AGAIN….(Romans24:16). It’s not from Romans 24:16, there is no Romanns24:16. I meant to say Proverbs 24:16. Can everyone stop goin back and forth with one another and pray from J. Moss so that if he’s faced with this temptation again that he won’t fall into that temptation. I have some of J. Moss songs on my MP3 player and he does say that He’s not perfect and none of us are, but we should be striving for perfection each day.

I must say it’s sad that Sin knocks on our doors and some of us have opened it and allowed it to walk in. These threads are so ungodly. All J. Moss, his brother and any man or woman of God as well as US on this site have a chance to REPENT, TO GOD, TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS AND HE FORGIVES. BUT WE HAVE TO GO DEEP SEA SCUBA DIVING INTO OTHERS SINS AND THEY ARE TRYING TO PIECE THEIR LIVES BACK TOGETHER INSPITE OF THE SHAME AND EMBARRASSMENT. Some folk voicing their opinions haven’t even heard of J. Moss but have the unmitigated audicaty to join in. Come Saints, let’s put this thread to rest.

WOW…..I don’t think everyone can see how the devil and his angels work. They are not going to go hard after people in the world cause they have them already, they are going to go hard after the people in the church because those are the people they don’t have. Yes we all have sinned and has fallen short of His glory and I think that’s why so any people outside of the church see people in the church as hypocrites. We as Christians make mistakes but that doesn’t mean that God can’t use us. Thank you Mitch for your comment on Jan. 5th at 3;15. Mitch summarize the story of David and Bathseba. Yes David was wrong as well as Bathseba just like J. Moss and this other young lady but look at how great David was. There are so many other people in the Bible that sinned and they REPENTED and TURNED from their wicked ways and God was yet able to used them. I don’t know J. Moss personally so I don’t know if he went to God and asked God for forgiveness. If he hasn’t then that’s between him and God and J. Moss will be held accountable for his actions. The Word does say “Anyone, then,who knows to do good and does it not, it is sin” (James 4:17).
Jason, to say or type that “That’s just like some church folks to jump on her instead of him”…..I don’t think everyone was just getting on the lady. I read more of people getting on J. Moss. I do agree that they both were wrong.
People just remember that We all have sinned and fallen short of His glory (Romans 3:23) the Word also says that a RIGHTEOUS MAN FALLS SEVEN TIMES, HE RAISES AGAIN….(Romans24:16). It’s not up to anyone to judge J. Moss (Matthew 7 tells us about judging others). If he falls then GETS UP and REPEN then who are we to judge him on his PAST sins. Thank God for His Mercy. If he has asked God or forgiveness and God has blotted out his past transgressions for His own sake and will not remember the many more (Isaiah 43:25), than who are we to keep bringing it up.
At first I didn’t really are about what happened but I realized that I should pray for J. Moss. 21:03 says in their song Brace Up on the Total Attention album….”Since it’s not us we could care less either way/ It’s not our issue so there’s nothing to say/ What’s even worse is that we won’t even pray”. That’s something that we should do…..PRAY for him and eveyone involved in this situation.
By the way Jason, not to sound rude, I love 21:03, even though you put lol at the end of your comment about them it wasn’t funny.

Wendy says she’ll never come back on this site. Well, it is normally a coward that will make a comment and run from a response. I am a christian so the word that she called me is fine; Im not going to give evil for evil. Thats between her and her God. The scripture says that with one side of you mouth you bless God and on the other you speak curses. I have a life. My life is in Christ, my family, and my church in which I Pastor. So, Wendy God bless you. It is amazing how people get angry over the word of God. When I have spoken it has been through the word of God. And the surprising thing is that if she read what she wrote and what I wrote we are talking on the same lines. I am not the only one that has written on more than I occassion.

My fellow brothers and sisters. Can we give this and all the other threads about our Christian Bishops, Evangelists, Singers and Musicians that have been attacked by sin and they gave in to the flesh a rest? Whether a child was conceived and yes marriage bonds were broken, they have to answer to One GOD and he sits high and looks low. How many times have people walked away from unprotected sex without the conception of a child? The Lord gives life and the Lord takes life in death. She could have miscarried or gave in to J. Moss demand of an abortion, but the Lord wanted this child to be here. I’m not defending him one way or another. I’m only commenting because I know Melanie Moss personally and her life has been turned upside down and she needs to know that folk have stopped talking, judging and are minding THEIR BUSINESS and just offering prayer and forgiveness. The Bishops/Pastors have went on with their ministries and lives and some of those threads have closed out. The threads are horrible because it gives unsaved folk a chance to speak about God’s Vessel. With this thread, the baby will be one in March and enough is enough. That Lipstick Alley thread is even worse. Today, we should all be rejoicing and thanking God for President Barack Obama. Nothing said or done can erase J. Moss and his act of adultery. Just like all of us who have sinned and wished we could erase it we either suffer consequences and some of us have a child or children out of wedlock, but they’re here. This wasn’t J. Moss first act of adultery but PRAYERFULLY HIS LAST. Melanie knew of his past way before she married him, but she was determined to be Mrs. Moss at any cost and she had her suspicions of him on the road but she chose to stand by her man like so many other women in these situations. Let’s think, would any of us want a thread about our sin or wrong doing to last this long? I ask you to you really PLEASE, PLEASE LET THIS THREAD GO IF NOT FOR J. MOSS AT LEAST FOR MELANIE AND THE CHILDREN!!!

I have to agree with Jason about people being so quick to condemn the woman…It amazes me how we quickly come to the conclusion that the woman is all out for TOP dollar. With the economy being what it is, it is very difficult to raise children these days and if “married men” are so quick to spread their seed around knowing full well that their wives are sitting at home trusting and believing in their faithfulness, then, they should pay. For J. Moss to say that a child support case is “hurting his reputation,” he should check again because he hurt his own reputation by having this adulterous affair by having unprotective sex with her. When will we ever learn, I don’t know. I’m not saying that she is totally innocent because she was aware of his marital status but two wrongs will never equal out to a right and the person who truly gets left with the damage of the matter is Melanie since we can all be sure that she had no knowledge that her husband was doing this to her. Yes, it will take a lot of prayer and counseling to help heal the matter but J. Moss should definitely consider his actions especially when people are regarding him as their #1 favorite “gospel” singer. Such shame this type of drama brings on the church as well as the SAINTS!

Last but not least, I attended church for years with Bill, Jr., Tina and Melanie and Tina divorced Bill, Jr and moved on with her life and I have to agree with others who doubt that Melanie will do the same because I witnessed first hand how much she loved J. Moss (and I’m sure she still does) but as an earlier poster says…”AIDS is real and it is not worth her life.”

Has anyone of heard of “Out with the OLD and In with the NEW”? This is my only comment to this or any other website. Mitch, are you J. Moss under cover? Yes, WE ALL have sinned, and there are skeletons in everyone ’s closets. It’s really sad that not just this website but lipstick alley has posted photos of the baby involved in this mess. Half of the folk say they aren’t in church, but they have taken a great interest in not just J. Moss and his brother but Bishop Noel Jones, Bishop Jakes, Pastor Jamal Bryant, Bishop Liston Page, Pastor Marvin Winans, Evg. Juanita Bryant, Bishop Weeks and countless others and these threads are UNGODLY, BUT, SO ARE THE SINS. I know what’s done in the dark will come to the light, because I didn’t know J. Moss was dating his now Wife while we all were in school but he was cheating on her way back when. I just wished CHEATING, WHORISH MEN/WOMEN, WOULD STOP. Then there wouldn’t be some many wounded MEN, WOMEN and KIDS OUT OF WEDLOCK. We as Christians really shouldn’t even voice and opinion on any of these sites or subjects. The world joins in and there just adding fuel to the fire. Personally, I’m hurt by all the men/women that I simply mentioned, but I pray for them and respect the calling on their lives. They have to answer to GOD. My late Bishop is the biological father of a very well known gospel artist and I was hurt, but life went on and the son is grown and accepted that he wasn’t recognized because he was the “mistake”. No, the Bishops way back in the day was as whorish, but websites just didn’t put them out.

In closing let’s just PRAY that when the final curtain call on our lives come down, when we rise we’ll be in the presence of the Lord. Not J. Moss, Bill Moss, Jr. or any other man or woman who didn’t give up their life for OUR SINS.

Mitch or if you’re J. Moss, be blessed. You’re really involved in this too much and please let’s pray for all the nasty comments and whomever posted the photo of the baby on lipstick alley and all Christians, let’s just SHUT OUR MOUTHS, PRAY, AND READ THE WORD OF GOD (BIBLE) NOT THESE THREADS.

real christians need to stand up and speak up. God said in all things seek wisdom and have disernment . He also said my sheep will know my voice. We have been running behind wolfes in sheep clothing that is leading us to be slaughtered . Before this even happened all of his songs have a very sexual sound to them.Why? Because God said if you be luke warm then I will spit you out. How many of our big gospel artist have brought their spouses to all of their events? Your spouse is your covering. they see what you don’t and you see what they don’t. Onthe other hand if christians stop buying there kids$150 concert tickets to see lil wanye then we can support the real worshipers that bring the song of the Lord not something to fulfill our flesh .
