The patriarch of the Winans gospel dynasty, David “Pop” Winans, suffered two strokes, a heart attack and several seizures recently. He had a major stroke in Spetember and a second stroke on November 3, discovered after he collapsed in the parking lot of a restaurant.
Doctors at Beaumont Medical Center in Detroit did not expect him to make it, calling his recovery “miraculous.”
Pastor Marvin Winans, one of his nine children said doctors had indicated the CT scan did not look good. When he came through, they stated his father should be blind, paralyzed or dead he said.
According to long-time Winans publicist Erma Byrd, “Pop,” 74, was released from the hospital last week and is “doing much better.”
More… Gospel Music Bites would like to ask everyone to pray for Pop Winans and the Winans family, that God will grant Pop Winans a full recovery and that the Winans family continue to let God take control.
