Award winning musician/songwriter and producer Nile Rodgers announces an initial lineup of performers’ for the 2009 Heroes Red, White and Blue Inaugural Ball on Tuesday, January 20 at the Warner Theatre (513 13th Street NW, Washington, DC) at 8 p.m.
The concert – “Legends Past, Present and Future” – brings together multi-generational music icons to honor wounded servicemen and women recently returned from Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, active duty personnel serving overseas, military leaders and other honored guests.
The event will benefit USO and TAPS and will be broadcast in its entirety to military bases around the world via the Pentagon Channel, reaching 2.4 million military personnel around the world.
Some headliners included in the line-up are Israel Houghton, Donnie McClurkin, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Anita Baker, George Duke, Jamie Foxx, NS, and Usher.
