ISRAEL HOUGHTON FEATURED IN JET: Artist wants to do more in community.

Gospel Artist Israel Houghton and his group New Breed are building bridges over the gospel music generation gap with their style of music. The group’s cross cultural hit songs Again I Say Rejoice and Friend of God, You are Good are spicing up the Sunday morning play lists across the country. And they will be the featured artists in JET Magazine’s Black Music Month issue on stands June 29th.

In an interview with JET, Israel Houghton talked about his upcoming ‘The Power of One’ world wide tour due to kick off in August.

“We’re talking about, with this upcoming ‘Power of One’ tour that we’re doing in the fall, really making it as an event and not just a concert. We’re meeting with homeless shelters and food pantries in various cities and saying ‘What do you need?’ So we’re saying part of your admission to this event (could be). .bringing food or bringing something that lasts beyond two hours of music.”

Israel Houghton and Integrity Music Group are sponsoring a video contest entitles “Just Wanna Say..” to promote A Deeper Level ’09 Worship Conference hosted by Israel Houghton Sept. 9th to 12th in Houston. Fifty winners will receive special gifts but only one grand prize winner will receive a trip for themselves and their spiritual leader to attend the conference.
