Only What You’re CALLED to do for CHRIST will last: A Synopsis of The Life & Legacy of Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

By now the world has been notified that Michael Jackson, the King of Pop and arguably the world’s greatest musical mind, has died. Michael Jackson’s impact on the art of music is unmatched in both creativity and in album sales. He toped charts in his career that many can only dream of. He touched many people with is exciting stage performances, idolized fashion, and signature choreographed dance moves. His reach not only extended from Los Angeles to New York but world-wide. He made an impact not just as an artist but as philanthropist. His charities alone have created a monumental name for him; so much so that former President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, honored him with an award at the White House celebrating his efforts in fighting against alcohol and drug abuse. Michael Jackson has made a difference in so many people’s lives and is often described as one who is “often imitated but never duplicated”. I could go on and on about the many accolades that this man deserves because of the barriers he’s broken in the music industry and the records he’s set that wait to be broken. This is truly a mere chip at the depth of his achievements.

Michael Jackson Only What You’re CALLED to do for CHRIST will last: A Synopsis of The Life & Legacy of Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

However, with all of the money, cars, fame, fortune and philanthropic acts it must be understood and never forgotten that only what you are called to do for Christ will last. The Bible states in Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? The question that rests within the Christian world is, “Was Michael Jackson saved by God’s Grace and if so is God a God that will allow people to live their lives as they choose and then allow them to enter into heaven on their death bed should they repent?” I am not God and I don’t know what kind of arrangements He made with Michael Jackson. However, here is what I do know. Your good deeds in this life, no matter what they are, will only register in the “Lambs Book of Life” if you are called according to God’s will and purpose and are saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The Commandments of the Lord are not “pick-n-choose” and if you are operating in a position of influence you are doing one of two things….drawing people to Christ or Away from Him. Yes the world will forever remember the legacy and reach of Michael Jackson but more importantly was his impact on earth as affective in the Kingdom of the Lord. Will Christ remember Michael Jackson in paradise? Will demons remember him as the greatest threat to their dark kingdom? Or is the Life of this great man only in the natural that never transcended spirit realm? There is an eternal life after this one and what we do for God right now counts. Time is short and God’s wrath is terrible. Michael Jackson is gone and we can’t speak for him but we can certainly answer to God for is ourselves. So I leave you with these questions; When your turn arrives to answer to God can you say that with all of your influence, money and power, that you fulfilled your assignment and have done all you could for Christ’s sake? Can you say, “I have accepted Christ in my life as my Savior and am walking according to His word and God’s Commandments? Think about it because our time on earth is short but the eternal life hereafter will never end. James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what [shall be] on the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
