July was a historic month for Bonnerfide Radio as it won the 1st ever GMWA Crystal Mic Media Award for Internet Radio Station of the Year. Additionally, Gerard Bonner, founder of Bonnerfide Radio, made an appearance on Bobby Jones Gospel.

The Gospel Announcers Guild of the Gospel Music Workshop of America held its 40th Anniversary Luncheon where it hosted the 1st Annual Crystal Mic Media Awards ceremony in Cincinnati, Ohio on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010. This event, attended by many of Gospel’s top artists and executives, garnered Bonnerfide Radio the award for “Internet Radio Station of the Year”. Gerard Bonner described the win as “surreal, yet fulfilling.” “It’s an honor to see the industry recognize this vision. What an amazing honor. I’m incredibly humbled.” The Crystal Mic Media Awards will air on The Word Network at a later date.

Furthering the excitement of the week was Gerard Bonner’s appearance on the 30th season taping of Bobby Jones Gospel, where he co-hosted the New Artist segment with Dr. Jones. This is the first time that an online radio personality has participated on Bobby Jones Gospel in this capacity. “I’ve watched this show since I was a child, so to be on with Dr. Jones was amazing!” Bonner said. The new season of Bobby Jones Gospel is tentatively set to premiere in October.
