On the heels of winning the 2010 South Florida Gospel Music Awards for Best Choir and Best Youth Performance, LeVeL8 releases its debut single entitled “Higher” on Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Available for digital download on various mediums, including iTunes and Amazon, the up-tempo tune is the first single to be released from the forthcoming album The One. The album is slated for an early 2011 release. Featuring V. Keys and DEENO on production, the single was written by Chicago’s Brian Pettis and Ryan Booker.
Recorded live in February 2010, The One introduces a group of over two dozen young men and women united to honor the legacy of 21-year old Kimone A. Anderson who died on September 19, 2008. The group combined the gifts and passions of dozens from 8 different churches, on the eighth month of 2009, to pen a testimony of restoration, healing, and a new beginning. Consisting of tracks from worship ballads, encouraging grooves, and high-energy declarations The One showcases original music written and arranged by young people impacted by the life of the late Anderson.
Already garnering awards and buzz in the local market, the anticipation of the release of the full album is mounting. The release of its first single, Higher, offers listeners an anthem of hope for a greater tomorrow, and a peak into an album well worth the wait.
