Gerard Bonner, founder of Bonnerfide Radio, is one of seven men being honored at the annual Genius For Men Conference in Washington, DC on Saturday, October 29, 2011.
The Genius For Men Conference, hosted by The Insight Initiative, Inc., a Washington, DC Metropolitan area nonprofit organization, is a men’s empowerment forum dedicated to celebrating male achievement, fostering community between men and women, and honoring men who seek to transcend the limits within their professions. In addition to Bonner, honorees include Alfred Edmond of Black Enterprise magazine, Michael Grant of the National Bankers Association, Composer Rev. Nolan Williams, Congressman John Lewis, Edgar Brookins of the Afro-American Newspaper and Darnell Lee of W&T Travel Service.
Bonner is overwhelmed by the privilege, saying, “It is such an incredible honor to be named among such heroes and trailblazers as Congressman John Lewis and Alfred Edmond. It’s also a huge statement to have our entity Bonnerfide Radio recognized along side other influential organizations such as Black Enterprise and the National Bankers Association. It is amazing to think that there are others who believe in what we do to honor us in this way. God be praised.”
The event, whose theme is “The Real Empire State of Mind: Building Wealth and Legacy for Our Families”, will be held at THEARC in Washington, DC from 2pm until 5pm and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased online for $20. Additional information on the Genius For Men Conference can be found by visiting the website, www.insightinitiative.net/gfm/eventoverview.
