These three young ladies have been singing together for the past five years. They’ve captured the hearts of many and have taken the City of St. Louis by storm with their unforgettable blend of harmony.

In 2001, they met while singing in their high school gospel choir. During their high school years, they represented their school in many singing competitions and successfully won first place. These ladies are not just talented but they are highly anointed and appointed by God. Their first demo project was released in 2004, and is still in high demand.

Donald Lawrence and Company New Album “The Law Of Confession Part 1″

Living Word Christian Center located in Forest Park (a sprawling suburb outside of Chicago, Illinois) was the location for The Law of Confession, Donald Lawrence’s live CD/DVD recording, held on July 30th.

The doors opened at 6 PM sharp, and no more than 30 minutes later, the spacious auditorium was filled to capacity with people waiting with great anticipation for the session to begin. This event attracted an impressive list of Who’s Who in the gospel music industry, including NCGCC President Bishop Kenneth Moales, Richard Smallwood, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Ted Wynn (of Ted and Sheri), Coko, Theresa Hairston and several members of the Verity/Zomba staff including Damon Williams, Jackie Patillo and Jeff Grant. The Chicago Gospel community was out in large numbers as well. Seen in the audience were Apostle Donald Alford, Smokie Norful, Jason Tyson, Percy Bady, Darius Brooks, Joann Rosario, Mark Hubbard, Malcolm Williams, Ricky Dillard, Kim Stratton, BET’s Sunday’s Best finalist Shari Addison, Cinque Cullar as well as members of the Chicago Area Gospel Announcers’ Guild.

Introductory greetings were given by Bill Winston, pastor of Living Word Christian Center. It was a series of messages taught by Winston that served as inspiration for the songs that followed. The Law of Confession will also be in book form, to be released prior to the album launch. Pastor Winston effectively charged the audience to take God at His Word and change the paradigm by speaking the very words of God as contained in scripture. The practicality of Pastor Winston’s message seemed to resonate with the congregation and after sharing some additional principles, Pastor Winston invited the Lord to bless the recording and the listeners and presented Donald Lawrence and the Company.

Donald Lawrence took the stage and introduced his singers. He made mention of the fact that his new group was in fact not so new, as they had provided background assistance on earlier previous project, I Speak Life. Familiar faces in the group included DeWayne Woods and Blanche McAllister Dykes (from Tri-City Singers), Latrice Pace (of the Pace Sisters), Anita Wilson and Chicago hometown favorites Floyd Wilkerson and Kim McFarland Anderson. Donald Lawrence noted that the group’s moniker is a tribute to one of his all time favorite groups, The Thomas Whitfield Company.

The session opened with a poignant delivery of Michael W. Smith’s “Ancient Words“. Next, The Company engaged in the emphatic proclamation of “The Word of the Lord“. It was the reaffirmation of God’s words put to music, a practice that believers need to utilize daily.

“The Law of Confession“, featuring Blanche McAllister Dykes and Tobbi White Darks (a phenomenal singer hailing from Kansas City, Mo., who along with her sister Tommi helped to round out the vocally rich soprano section of The Company) explained “there is a law for confession, you just say what God has said, speak the word”. Donald Lawrence put this practice to good use by asking members of the audience to declare promises contained in the scriptures.

The Company went on to minister “The Blessing Is On You“. Chicago favorite Kim McFarland-Anderson carried the audience to higher heights as she declared that God will cause us to prosper despite recession, oppression and inflation because the Blessing of the Lord is upon us. God’s presence permeated the room as Donald stood on stage and led the audience in worship as they sang aloud in one voice verses from “The Blessing of Abraham“.

Donald Lawrence went on to show his appreciation for the mastery writing skills of Pastor Marvin Winans by covering “Redeemed” (from The Winans’ Let My People Go album). Lawrence has visited the house of Winans on previous recordings as a cover of another Winans‘ composition, “Long Time Comin‘”, is featured on The Murrills‘ debut project.

From there, The Company delivered “Lets Go Back to Eden and Live on Top of the World” featuring Floyd Wilkerson on lead vocals. The audience heartily embraced this song even as it came to a close, continually singing the refrain, living on top of the world.

A trio made up of Anita Wilson , Tobbi White Darks and Tommi White put an indelible signature on Derek (DOA) Allen’s “Happy Being Me“, which Donald Lawrence called a celebration of women and sisterhood. The Company also paid tribute to Richard Smallwood (who was in the audience) by covering” I’ve Got Something” (this world can’t take away) led capably by Blanche McAllister Dykes. The highlight of the night was when Donald Lawrence asked Vanessa Bell Armstrong to do a reprise of the vamp.

More… Hold on tight, because if the entire evening comes packaged in disc format, very soon. Worth the wait, for sure.

The Bishop Jerome & Marsha Stokes Young Adult Choir hails from Baltimore’s mega-church Church of the Redeemed of the Lord, headed by Bishop Jerome Stokes. Consisting of 50 teenagers from the ages of 15 – 25, the choir is a group of gifted, inspired and committed young people. Under the direction of Miranda Johnson, Yvonne Savage, Curtis Spencer and Kenneth Shelton, The Bishop Jerome & Marsha Stokes Young Adult Choir have just dropped their first live CD, S. The now 15-year-old ninth (9th ) grader attends Judson High School in San Antonio , Texas where she studying English, Integrated Physics, Chemistry and Geometry, is an exceptionally good student. Not only has perfect pitch in the studio but also on the field where she’s a member of the high school softball team. During her quieter moments, this only child can be found curled up in her room, reading classics like the Odyssey, or working on short stories.

SPENSHA’s father, Wayne Barker , gave Spensha her beautiful, unusual name. Through her parent’s stint in the military (Army), she has lived in a variety of places throughout the United States. Although she has enjoyed traveling and advocating to people, her biggest journey lies ahead with the release of the messages on OUTLOUD! : “I want to be a role model; someone people aspire to be like. That’s why the album is called Outloud! , I’m not afraid to show the world who I really am. One thing about me is that I am a regular girl. Spirit Rising Music’s and contemporary Gospel’s top trio recording artist Trin-i-tee 5:7 are gearing up to re-release “T57: Deluxe Edition,” an enhanced CD version of their Dove and Grammy Award nominated “T57.”

The new version will include four new songs and two videos. The “T57: Deluxe Edition,” CD in due in stores September 30.

“T57,” the first studio album in over five years from Trin-i-tee 5:7, garnered two Dove Awards, a 2008 Grammy Award nomination, and a 2008 BET nomination. The deluxe version of the release will feature a combination of A-list producers from both Gospel and Pop/R&B genres.

She is best known as one of the leading voices of the Grammy Award winning Love Fellowship Crusade Choir where she ministered such powerful and unforgettable songs as “Let the Glory ,” “Try Christ ” and the all time favorite “Second Chance, ” a tearful testimony to the goodness and unmerited favor of God.

“This project is so important to me because it was used as a tool for the Holy Spirit to remind me of who I am in Christ Jesus. There were times in my life when I felt like everything I thought I knew was being tested…and it was…but one thing I have learned is it’s not until you put your whole trust in God to bring you through those tests that you truly find out who you are and what you are made of, ” Monique said .

The first single, “Crazy Praise, ” is in heavy rotation on radio stations across the country as well as abroad and is receiving accolades across the board.

Marvin Sapp new album “Thirsty” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Gospel Charts. This is Marvin Sapp’s seventh solo project, which is a powerful follow-up to his 2005 album, “Be Exalted” (that gave us the urban jam “Do You Know Him”).

The energy of this live concert (captured live at Grandville, Michigan’s Resurrection Life Church,) pulsates feverishly. The stand out cut, “Never Would Have Made It” is a compelling vocal meditation that coerces listeners to bow down and reverence God as their Keeper, then “Praise Him in Advance” raises them to their feet to sway to the assuring words “praise will confuse the enemy.” More musically varied than projects of the past there is a touch of smooth jazz on “Worshipper in Me” on which the keyboard glistens, while the peaceful string orchestration on “Rivers Flow” emits a contemporary Christian twist. A church friendly, praise and worship banner “Shout Unto God” bursts into extolment. “Thirsty” is more worship than praise, more slow than fast, even more personal than the last.

The accompanying DVD for the project also had an outstanding first week of sales, debuting at #2 on the Christian Soundscan Music Video Chart. “Thirsty” is a tall glass full of spiritual replenishment when your life is lingering in dry places.

In the sheer spirit of a psalmist Marvin Sapp bares his soul with unabashed emotive resolve. When asked about his worship style Marvin Sapp likens his experience to David running from Absalom in the Psalms. “I go to a very desolate place in my existence and think about things that most people don’t think about and when I get there–that’s where I find sanctuary. When you go to a place where you can’t depend on anybody around you then and only then can you call on God and when God shows up, where ever you are becomes your sanctuary.”

Marvin Sapp’s ability to unveil his private sanctuary encounters in the presence of others is the signature of “Thirsty.”

The words of “Never Would Have Made It” transpired when Marvin Sapp was left barren in his personal life. Back to back he experienced the deaths of the three most influential men in his life: his father, his musical mentor, and his spiritual father. The lyrics of the empowering song were spoken to Marvin Sapp prophetically on the spot the date of his recording and were truly the only way he could have performed on the night that became a critical turning point for him.

The concert took place a day after burying his father and his spiritual father had passed away just days earlier. He recalled having to go preach while the pain of his father’s earthly departure was still fresh. “The Lord said to me, ‘Marvin, there’s something you need to understand. Although your father isn’t with you physically, I will never leave you nor will I forsake you. I will be with you always even until the end of the earth’.
